Analog Missionary has developed a vast, multi-layered sound that sweeps from grandiose movements of intense power to calmer moments of emotive introspection. Their sound has been characterized as sultry, acoustically complex, sonically textured, and eclectic. The band's strength is their ability  to balance the fragile with the ferocious... Anstrom's singing has been described as a layer of voices, a vocal multiplicity that lifts and swoons, excites and calms; vocal variations that are both hauntingly beautiful and deliciously

exciting.  Performances include a half-hour set of middle-eastern music and bellydancing

 Why do they classify themselves as  "Progressive/Ambient/Art-Rock"             

• Progressive= Stresses their desire to elevate rock music to new levels of artistic credibility, and their  symphonic/melodic aspirations.  The band's musical explorations require technical prowess and proficient musicianship, but do not flaunt it for its own sake.

• Ambient=possessing ethereal qualities,  many songs do not always follow strictly linear forms.  Some passages may forego percussion completely, opting for dreamier, more texturally atmospheric sounds.  Conveys mood, emotion, intensity.

• Art-rock=They aim to incorporate elements of many different styles of music in order to transcend conventional limits.  Featuring longer musical movements and challenging arrangements , the music has more to do with modern/avant-garde art than corporate ‘rock-n-roll.’
